Cameras, then what they make
The first seven tiles are cameras: the flash, the camcorder, the film camera on a stand, the selfie and the cinema sign. The next eight are what comes out of them: film frames, a projector, a clapper board, a tape, a framed picture and the red dot of a recording.
A camera where emoji are dropped
Some name fields and print jobs lose emoji. The plain-text group builds a camera from ordinary characters: [◉¯] is a lens with a flash on top, and ◉ alone reads as a lens. The ASCII cameras line up only in a monospaced font.
Tips
- Search tbt: CLDR, Unicode's list of search words, gives it to Camera and Video camera.
- No emoji name or search word holds polaroid, lens or tripod.
- Two caption lines have blanks: paste, then type the name or the link over the underscores.
Questions and answers
What is the camera symbol in text?
📷 followed by the text-style selector, 📷︎, asks for a black and white camera, though a device may still colour it. For plain characters only, use the lens ◉ or the one-line [◉¯]. 🖻, Document with picture, is text too.
What is the difference between 📷 and 📸?
The flash. 📷 is Camera, from Emoji 0.6, and the only emoji CLDR files under photo. 📸, Camera with flash, came in Emoji 1.0. Only 📷 has a text form, so the Text style switch can turn it black and white.
Is there a video camera emoji?
Three. 📹 Video camera is the camcorder, 🎥 Movie camera the film camera with two reels, and 🎦 Cinema the sign. CLDR lists camera for all three, and record for 🎥.
