How it works

Bell emoji copy and paste is one press: Bell, U+1F514, is loaded above Copy. Under it sit all 268 emoji Unicode files as objects, clothing to tools, then 16 it keeps elsewhere and 19 named combos.

Type the word you would say

Search reads Unicode's names and CLDR, its list of search words. Type tv and only Television answers. Type drum and three do: Drum, Long drum and Oil drum. Light bulb, Mirror and Shovel go by name. Shovel is from Emoji 16.0; older phones show a box.

Objects filed somewhere else

To Unicode a train is transport, not an object: CLDR files train under seven emoji, all with ground transport, and three are here. The dice is Game die and the target is Bullseye, both filed with the games. Rock sits with the buildings.

Tips
  • For a book symbol in plain text, switch to Text style. Of seven book emoji, only Books has a text form.
  • A search for science misses Alembic, Petri dish and DNA, which CLDR files elsewhere. All three science emoji are under Science and medical.
  • Bomb is the only emoji CLDR files under explosion, and it has a text form.

Questions and answers

Which emoji is the explosion?

Collision, U+1F4A5. Unicode files it with the smileys, not the objects, and CLDR lists boom, explode and bomb for it. It is here among the objects filed elsewhere, and the combo Boom sets Bomb before it.

Is there a tank emoji?

No. No emoji name and no CLDR search word contains tank. The closest is Military helmet, the only emoji CLDR files under army, or the combo On parade: the helmet, then Military medal.

Is there a gavel emoji?

No, and CLDR lists the word for nothing. Use Hammer, or the combo Order in court: Judge, then Hammer. Judge is a sequence built on Balance scale, which CLDR files under justice.

Is there a pyramid emoji?

No. Nothing in Unicode's emoji list, version 18.0, is named pyramid, and no search word mentions one. The combo Pyramids sets Red triangle pointed up between Desert and Camel.

What is the bell emoji with a line through it?

Bell with slash, U+1F515, from Emoji 1.0. Unicode's formal name is BELL WITH CANCELLATION STROKE, and CLDR files it under mute, quiet and silent. Bell itself gets break, church and sound.

How this list was compiled: Built by script on 2026-09-19, not typed by hand. The emoji, their names, code points and Emoji version numbers come from emoji-test.txt, version 18.0 (https://www.unicode.org/Public/18.0.0/emoji/emoji-test.txt); names are the CLDR short names printed in that file, in sentence case. The first 268 items are every entry of that file's group Objects, skin tone variants apart (the group has none): 18 subgroups, from clothing (47) to other-object (9). The build stops if the group or any subgroup changes size. Bell, the emoji this page is searched for, leads; its chip comes first and the other chips follow the file's order, and inside a chip the file's order stands. The next 16 are objects that the same file keeps in other groups (Travel & Places, Activities, Smileys & Emotion, Food & Drink, People & Body, Symbols, Animals & Nature); each note says where. The search words are from the CLDR English annotations (https://github.com/unicode-org/cldr/blob/main/common/annotations/en.xml and https://github.com/unicode-org/cldr/blob/main/common/annotationsDerived/en.xml, main branch). A note that says an emoji is the only one CLDR files under a word was checked by counting that word, without regard to case, across every emoji in the file. No emoji name and no CLDR search word contains tank, gavel or pyramid. The text forms come from emoji-variation-sequences.txt, version 18.0.0 (https://www.unicode.org/Public/18.0.0/ucd/emoji/emoji-variation-sequences.txt). Formal names are the character names of UnicodeData.txt, version 18.0.0 (https://www.unicode.org/Public/18.0.0/ucd/UnicodeData.txt). The 19 combos are runs of emoji from the same file under names of our own. All sources were checked on 2026-09-19. Licence: own work
