Find a scorecard, a bunker or the slang
Search reads names and search words. Scorecard finds the front nine and the back nine, bunker finds three tiles, and slang finds seven, from Turkey to 19th hole. Birdie finds six: CLDR, Unicode's list of search words, files it under the golfers, not under Bird.
How a golf score is written
A round is reported against par. On a par 72 course, 75 is +3, 70 is -2 and 72 is E, for even. Out is the first nine holes and In is the back nine. The scorecards keep their columns only where text is monospaced, such as a code block.
Tips
The scorecards and score lines are samples. Paste one, then type your own pars and strokes over ours.
Text style gives Flag in hole, the first golfer and six more tiles their plain text form.

How this list was compiled: Built by script on 2026-09-19, not typed by hand. The emoji, their names, code points and Emoji version numbers come from emoji-test.txt, version 18.0 (https://www.unicode.org/Public/18.0.0/emoji/emoji-test.txt); names are the CLDR short names printed in that file, in sentence case. In that file five emoji mention golf in a name or a search word: Flag in hole (U+26F3, Emoji 0.6, group Activities, subgroup sport), Person golfing (U+1F3CC, Emoji 0.7, group People & Body), Man golfing and Woman golfing (Emoji 4.0) and Triangular flag. No emoji name holds golf ball, golf club or golf cart. The search words are from the CLDR English annotations (https://github.com/unicode-org/cldr/blob/main/common/annotations/en.xml and https://github.com/unicode-org/cldr/blob/main/common/annotationsDerived/en.xml, main branch). CLDR lists flag, golf, hole and sport for the flag in hole; ball, birdie, caddy, driving, golf, golfing, green, putt, range and tee for the golfers, plus the initials of one organisation that this page leaves out of its search words; golf for the triangular flag; birdie for the golfers and badminton only; hole for hole, flag in hole and shovel; sand for the two hourglasses only; and nothing for fairway, bunker, albatross, condor, bogey, par, mulligan, caddie or putter. The text forms come from emoji-variation-sequences.txt, version 18.0.0 (https://www.unicode.org/Public/18.0.0/ucd/emoji/emoji-variation-sequences.txt). Every character that is not an emoji was checked against UnicodeData.txt, version 18.0.0 (https://www.unicode.org/Public/18.0.0/ucd/UnicodeData.txt), and a note that names a character uses its name from that file. In UnicodeData.txt the character U+1F3CC is named GOLFER. The six plain text characters were checked against the emoji list: none has an entry there. Wikipedia supplied the golf facts, read as wikitext on 2026-09-20: the names of hole scores from condor to triple bogey, why an eagle is an eagle, how a round is reported against par, a typical par of about 72 and the usual lengths of a par 3 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Par_(score)); 18 holes as the regular course, groups of one to four, most holes being par 4 and the scratch golfer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golf); the hole in one and its other name, ace (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hole_in_one); the warning shout (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fore_(golf)); and the slang, from turkey, snowman, banana-ball, shrimp, worm burner and skull to dogleg, 19th hole, sandy, mulligan, gimme, shoot your age, play through, even, the outward and inward nines, dimples, flag-stick and tee (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_golf). The two scorecards are computed: each nine holds five par 4s, two par 3s and two par 5s, the script adds them to 36 and 36, and the rows are checked to line up within 30 columns. The score lines are computed against a par of 72. Every number on a card or a score line is a sample to type over, not a record of any round or any course. The 13 one-line drawings, the 7 ASCII drawings and the 21 combos are this site's own work: styled words are assembled from character names and the drawings were made for this page. No course, club, tour, competition, player or maker is named. The Unicode and CLDR files were checked on 2026-09-19 and the Wikipedia pages on 2026-09-20. Licence: own work
