Three racers, four in support
Racing Sans One leans 12 degrees and mixes thick strokes with thin; its makers call it a tribute to high-contrast sans types of 1897 and 1906. Faster One leans about 10 degrees and trails wind lines off the left of every letter, in capitals and small capitals only. Russo One stands upright, wide and square. Audiowide, Saira Stencil One, Teko and Anton back them up; all seven hold accented letters.
Blur and speed lines
Motion blur smears a faint copy of the words sideways, both ways, under the sharp letters, and Strength of the look takes it from 0.4 to 1.6 times the opening amount. Speed lines under Decoration are the comic kind: 48 wedges aimed at the words. New look deals 16 presets.
Tips
- Type digits alone for a race number: Racing Sans One's lean, Teko's and Anton's stand narrow and upright.
- Faster One is the widest font here, about 1.7 times Teko: give it short words or break the line.
- A PNG with Speed lines or the burst is the whole board, 2400 by 1200, even on Transparent.
Questions and answers
Can I cut the lettering in vinyl for a kart or a car?
Not straight from the download. The SVG holds live text with the font inside, and a cutter wants outlines, so convert the text to paths in a vector editor. Use Plain: motion blur is a filter and chrome a gradient, and a blade cuts neither.
Can I slant the text or add a chequered flag?
No. There is no slant or shear control and no chequered pattern. Racing Sans One and Faster One lean by design, and the other five stay upright whatever you press. For a flag, lay a transparent PNG over a chequered image in any editor.
Is this the lettering of a real team or series?
No. Each font is an open-licence design with its own name and maker. The logos of teams, series and car makers are trademarks, and nothing here imitates one. What you get is the general idea: a forward lean, a wide stance and wind lines.
