How it works
This arabic font generator draws what you type in 5 fonts, right to left with the letters joined. It does not translate, and it has no vowel-mark switch: the marks you type are drawn, and none are added.

Five hands, one alphabet
Amiri is a book naskh, revived from the type of the Bulaq Press in Cairo. Lateef, SIL's font for Sindhi, is plainer and smaller on the line. Aref Ruqaa is ruqaa, everyday handwriting: words slope down to the left, and mid-word seen loses its teeth. Reem Kufi is kufic, upright and geometric. Cairo is a heavy sans, about 1.9 times as wide as Lateef.
Vowel marks and digits
Arabic usually goes without its short-vowel marks, the tashkeel. By Wikipedia's account only religious texts, children's books and works for learners carry the full set. They matter: Wiktionary reads حب as love (حُبّ), beloved (حِبّ) or grain (حَبّ). All five fonts place every mark you type. Digits follow your keyboard: ٢٠٢٦ stays ٢٠٢٦.
Tips
- To stretch a word, paste a tatweel (ـ) between two joined letters: سلام becomes ســـلام.
- Arch and Bulge (More options) move whole words so joins hold: two words make a roof, four an arch.
- All five hold Persian and Urdu. Pashto, Sindhi and Uyghur need Amiri or Lateef; Cairo lacks Kurdish ڕ, ۆ, ێ.
Questions and answers
Does it translate English into Arabic?
No. It draws the characters you give it, so paste Arabic in and have a speaker check anything bound for a sign or skin. English stays English in each font's own Latin, not dressed up as Arabic, and Amiri and Cairo lack accented Latin letters.
What do the ready-made phrases say?
In order: peace be upon you, good morning, good evening, good night, goodbye, thanks, good luck, Eid Mubarak, happy birthday, happy new year, peace, love, light, hope, freedom, patience, coffee, open, closed and let's go. Glosses are Wiktionary's. Love and closed carry their vowel marks.
Why save a picture instead of copying the text?
Arabic needs software that joins its letters, which Wikipedia files under complex text layout; without it pasted Arabic shows unjoined. The PNG is already drawn, and Copy picture puts it on the clipboard. The SVG holds live text, so open it where Arabic is shaped.
