Pick the fright
Creepster is lumpy, wobbly and the narrowest, so a long title stays tall. Butcherman looks hacked out with a cleaver and drips at the feet. Eater grows thorns from every serif. Frijole is heavy, ringed by a rough echo line, and about 1.8 times as wide as Creepster. Grenze Gotisch is the blackletter.
Stack it like a poster
The page opens on Every line full width, which scales each line until all are equally wide: press Enter after a short first line and it comes out huge above a long second one. Shape, in More options, has Straight, Arch and Wave instead. There too, Transparent under Background cuts the PNG to the lettering, ready to sit on a photo of your own basement.
Tips
- In Creepster, Butcherman and Eater, Shift swaps each letter's drawing: type DoOM and the doubled O stops looking rubber-stamped.
- Butcherman's gaps inside N, M and W nearly close: a title that reads as a row of teeth wants Creepster.
- VHS glitch slides a cyan copy left and a red one right. Red letters hide it; use White or Steel.
Questions and answers
Why is my title all capitals?
Creepster, Butcherman, Eater and Frijole were drawn without a lower case. In the first three the small-letter keys give a second capital, drawn differently. Frijole puts small capitals there, about four fifths the height. Only Grenze Gotisch knows what a small letter is.
Which font turns this into a vampire font generator?
Grenze Gotisch. It is a blackletter, the book hand Wikipedia records across Western Europe from the late 12th century to the 17th. Blood red on Old paper gives a book cover. Steel with Soft glow on Night blue gives moonlight.
Is there a scary font I can copy and paste?
Not from here: a font does not travel with pasted letters, so this page saves a picture, and Copy picture puts that on the clipboard. Glitched characters that paste as plain text are the cursed text generator's job.
