How it works
Type in Your text and this broken font generator sets it in Rubik Distressed, cracked like old paint, on black. Two more faces sit under Font: Rubik Broken Fax, torn into scan lines, and Rubik Burned, charred round every edge.

Three kinds of damage
Rubik Distressed is a distressed font in the plain sense: solid letters full of cracks. Rubik Broken Fax cuts each stroke into thin bands, like a copy that lost lines. Rubik Burned keeps only a charred outline. All three were script-generated from the same Rubik letters, so swapping fonts moves nothing on the board.
Save it
Download picture (PNG) saves the square board. Choose Transparent under Background first and the PNG is cut to the letters, ready to lay over a photo or a video. New look deals eight designs.
Questions and answers
Is there a scratched font here?
Rubik Distressed is the closest: its letters are covered in fine cracks and scratches. For a harsher scratch, choose Rough print under Look; it chews every edge at random.
Can I download the font itself?
Not here: this page draws your words as a picture. All three fonts are free under the SIL Open Font License, and each can be downloaded by name from Google Fonts.
Why does Rubik Broken Fax look striped?
It imitates a fax or photocopy that lost lines on the way, so every stroke is cut into bands. At small sizes the bands close up: give it a short word and let it fill the board.
