Type in Your text and this gold font generator sets the words in Playfair Display with a gold gradient, a bronze outline and a dark shadow. It reads as metal on black or white: no foil, only five stacked colours.

Why flat yellow never looks like gold
Metal shines because its brightness changes with the angle of the light, so one flat yellow looks like mustard. The Gold look fakes the angles from top to bottom: cream, yellow, dark bronze, a bright line, then brown. That jump from dark to bright is the horizon a polished surface reflects. Each line of text gets its own.
Rose gold and your own shades
Gold brings its own colours, so the colour controls are put away. Set Look to Two-colour fade and Letter colour and Outline colour come back under More options; the letters run from one down to the other. Pale pink #f7d6c8 over dusty rose #b76e79 makes rose gold. In Colours, Sand fades to champagne and Flame to copper. Chrome is the silver version.
Tips
- Thick strokes carry the gradient: on Playfair Display's H, uprights are nine times the crossbar. Keep thin Great Vibes short.
- On Black, Print gives a hollow outline. Untick Print as an outline (saves ink) under More options for full gold.
- Foil brings its own colour, so a print shop needs only the shape: Plain look, black on white, Download SVG.
Questions and answers
Does the gold work on a transparent background?
Yes. The bronze outline and the shadow travel with the letters, so the gold reads on white too. Under More options, set Background to Transparent: with no decoration the PNG is cut to the lettering, otherwise it saves the whole board, 2400 by 1200.
Can I sell things with this lettering on?
The fonts allow it. All six are under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Its FAQ says artwork made with a font belongs to whoever made it, no permission or credit needed, and lists logos, signage and t-shirts. That covers the letters, not your words.
Is there glitter, or a shine that moves?
No. The shine is a fixed band of colour and there is no glitter texture. Under More options, Decoration has Sparkles and Stars, which scatter seven small shapes round the words, and Strength of the look thickens the bronze outline.
