How it works
These gold bubble letters are the fat round font Sniglet, shaded from pale gold at the top to bronze at the foot, with a bronze outline and a dark shadow. The other 15 designs add pink, rainbow, stripes and silver.

Where the bronze band crosses the letters
The Gold look runs a dark bronze band across each line of text. It is set on the font's whole line, not on the letter, so it moves: halfway up a capital in Bagel Fat One and Chango, two fifths up in Sniglet, Lilita One and Rubik Bubbles, a quarter up in Modak. Two lines get a band each.
Three routes to pink bubble letters
Under the Bubble look, Hot pink is a strong pink with a white outline, so put Blush pink, Sky blue or Night blue behind it: on White the outline disappears. Bubblegum is a paler pink with a purple outline that shows on anything. Third, Two-colour fade in Bubblegum runs from pink at the top to purple at the foot.
Tips
- Rainbow runs once along a straight line. On Arch, Wave and Top to bottom every letter gets a whole rainbow.
- For bubble letters colored in by hand, pick Bubble with Colour-in outline: fat white letters with a black edge.
- Sniglet has the same small round hole in every letter, like a foil balloon. Modak shuts its holes to slits.
Questions and answers
Can I print gold bubble letters that shine?
Not from a home printer, which has no metallic ink and mixes this gold from yellow, magenta and black: a picture of shine. For the real thing, tick Print as an outline (saves ink), tape the print over gold card and cut through both.
Can every letter be a different colour?
Not in one go: a look colours the whole word. For one colour a letter, type a single letter, choose Transparent under Background and save the PNG, which is cut close to the letter. Repeat, then line the pieces up in any editor.
Why can't I change the colour of the gold letters?
Because the Gold look brings its own colours, so Letter colour and Outline colour switch off. For a gold you can change, pick Bubble under Look and Gold under Colours: one flat yellow with a dark brown outline, and both colour pickers work.
