This sheet prints bubble letters lowercase and uppercase together: 26 pairs from Aa to Zz, each capital beside its small letter, as outlines to colour in. It opens in Fredoka, the first of six rounded fonts.

The three heights of bubble letters lower case
In Fredoka, six small letters (b d f h k l) rise just past the capitals, and t stops just short. Five (g j p q y) hang nearly a third of a capital below the line. The other 14 stop at 72% of a capital's height, 10 mm on this sheet against 13.
Which small letters lose their holes
The Bubble outline grows into the holes of a b d e g o p q, smallest first. At the opening Strength of the look of 20, Fredoka loses only the eye of e, which prints as a black slit. At 50, Mochiy Pop One still keeps seven holes open, while in Baloo 2 and DynaPuff all eight shrink to black dots and slits.
Tips
- For a bubble letters alphabet, lowercase only, choose Small letters under Letters on the grid: Fredoka prints about 7% bigger.
- A typed word of up to six letters prints Fredoka's short letters 24 mm tall, one to a box.
- For ruled top, middle, base and tail lines, choose Practice page under Sheet. It draws plain letters, not bubble outlines.
Questions and answers
How do you draw lowercase bubble letters by hand?
Rule four pencil lines: base, middle, top and tail. Going by Fredoka, put the top line 1.4 times as high as the middle, and the tail line 0.4 of that height below the base. Then write the word lightly and draw round every stroke.
Should a bubble letter a be round or two-storey?
Either reads. Fredoka, Mochiy Pop One and Comic Neue draw the round one-storey a of school handwriting. Baloo 2, Bubblegum Sans and DynaPuff draw the two-storey a of print, whose smaller bowl closes sooner. All six give g an open tail.
What happens to the dot on i and j?
The outlines round the dot and the stem meet, so the dot prints as a ball resting on the stem, with one line between them. In DynaPuff they join into one peanut shape. By hand, draw the stem first and sit a circle on it.
