Neon glow or Soft glow
Neon glow draws a bright rim round each letter and a wide halo. Soft glow drops the rim for a gentler haze. Hollow is the outline with the light off. Neon cyan and Neon pink keep the letters near white with the colour in the halo, like a lit tube. Under More options, Strength of the look sets how far the halo spreads.
Save it for a dark picture
The PNG is 2400 by 1200 pixels on Black or Night blue. As a glow text maker for a stream overlay or thumbnail, set Background to Transparent: the file is cut to the lettering, halo included. Near-white letters almost vanish on the preview's white checks and return on a dark picture; the tool warns you.
Tips
- On the scripts, Neon glow rims each letter separately, so joins show a small loop. Soft glow hides them.
- Arch, under Shape, suits Bebas Neue and Fredoka. On a script it tilts each letter and breaks the joins.
- Flame is nearest to real neon gas, which glows reddish orange. Other sign colours come from other gases.
Questions and answers
Can I copy and paste glowing text?
Not as letters: pasted characters carry no colour or light, and every app draws them in its own font. A glow is a blur painted round the letter shapes, so a glow text generator hands you a picture. Copy picture pastes it into a chat.
Which glow fonts work best?
Thick round faces hold a Soft glow: Fredoka and Pacifico. Poiret One is the thinnest, and under Neon glow its strokes read as one bent glass tube. Audiowide's own description calls its forms tubular. Bebas Neue is narrow capitals, so long words stay large.
Why does a glow need a dark background?
A glow is light added round the letters, and nothing on a white page is lighter than the page. There the halo shows only as a faint tint. Black and Night blue give it something to shine against.
Can the glow flicker or pulse?
Not on this page, which makes a still picture. The animated text generator has a Neon flicker preset and saves a short video or the CSS keyframes.
