This military font generator stamps up to 4 lines in 4 stencil fonts, in sand, olive, black or red paint. The gaps in the letters are what holds a real stencil together, and you can print an outline to cut.

Why stencil letters have gaps
A stencil is a sheet with letter-shaped holes. The middle of an O would drop out, so narrow strips of sheet, called bridges, hold those islands in. Armies stencil crates, vehicles and helmets because one template alphabet marks everything alike. Black Ops One is heavy, wide and square-cornered. Stardos Stencil has serifs. Saira Stencil One is heavy with rounded corners. Allerta Stencil is the lightest.
Paint and frame
The page opens on Rough print, which chews the edges like paint through a worn sheet. Plain keeps the bridges clean. Outline paints its edge colour across every bridge, so the gaps read as seams. New look deals 14 designs and keeps the double border of Frame; remove it under Decoration in More options.
Tips
- To cut a stencil, press Print with Print as an outline (saves ink) ticked. Cutting is an adult's job.
- The tool keeps your case. Capitals look more like a crate, so type them yourself.
- For ø, ł and š pick Stardos Stencil: a letter a font lacks is drawn by your device, without gaps.
Questions and answers
Is this the font a real army uses?
None of the four is any armed force's official typeface, and this site has no link to one. An army font generator can offer the construction: letters broken by bridges. Black Ops One alone is described by its makers as inspired by military stencil lettering.
Can I cut these letters out as a working stencil?
Yes. No letter or digit in the four fonts has an enclosed island, so nothing drops out; Stardos Stencil's # has one. Bridges are 5 to 6 mm on a 10 cm capital and about 1 mm at 2 cm, which tears in card.
Can I use it on a shirt or a logo?
Yes. All four fonts are under the SIL Open Font License, whose FAQ says a graphic made with such a font belongs to whoever made it, and credit is optional. Press Download SVG for print, or take the PNG at 2400 by 1200 pixels.
