A paw that is not an emoji
For paw symbol copy and paste where emoji are refused, take CJK radical paw one or paw two, short forms of the claw radical, or the Thai letter ΰΈ , the paw that text faces hold up. All three are plain text and take the colour of your words.
Tips
Paw prints belongs to no animal. CLDR files it under paw, paws, feet, print and prints, and names no species.
The lion's paw hieroglyph arrived with Unicode 16.0. If it shows as a box, the font has not caught up.
Five dots, β, is an honest paw: Wikipedia counts four toe pads and one large pad on most.
Questions and answers
Is there a cat paw emoji or a dog paw emoji?
No. Unicode has one paw emoji, Paw prints, and it names no animal. It is also the only emoji CLDR files under paw or paws. Pair it with Cat or Dog, as the first two combos here do, and the owner is clear.
