How it works

This preppy font generator draws your words as a picture in six fonts, from the Pacifico brush script to puffy DynaPuff. It opens on hot pink candy stripes over night blue. Type a word and Download picture (PNG) saves it.

Candy stripes need a fat letter

Candy stripes fills the letters with white and one colour, tilted 35 degrees. DynaPuff's strokes are over five times as thick as Sacramento's hairline, so DynaPuff shows whole stripes and Sacramento turns into a twisted rope. Under More options, Strength of the look widens the stripes up to four times.

A pink font generator, with green on the side

Colours has two pinks: Hot pink, outlined in white, and paler Bubblegum, outlined in purple. Pink is weak on pale grounds, so the page opens on Night blue. For pink with green, open More options and set Outline colour to a green or a navy. Do that on White always: Hot pink's white outline vanishes there.

Tips
  • New look keeps an Outline colour you set by hand, and Back to the last look undoes one deal.
  • On Arch every letter turns and its stripes turn too. For stripes that lean one way, stay on Straight.
  • For a monogram, type initials with a space between them and pick Playfair Display, the one serif here.

Questions and answers

What makes a font preppy?

Preppy is a look, not a typeface: round, bouncy letters in bright pink with green, sky blue or navy, often striped. This page covers it with a brush script, three rounded display fonts, a thin script and a bold serif for monograms.

Can I copy and paste pink text from here?

As a picture, yes. After your first change a Copy picture button appears, and the pink, the stripes and the outline paste into a document, slide or chat. Typed characters carry no colour of their own, so pink letters cannot be pasted as text.

Can I put these on stickers or shirts I sell?

Yes. Five of the six fonts are under the SIL Open Font License and Chewy is under the Apache License 2.0. Neither has a clause against selling what you make, and the credits under the tool link to both licences.
