The running emoji is Person running, U+1F3C3: press Copy and it is yours. Unicode never said which way the runner faces. Since Emoji 15.1, you can. The page holds 53 things to paste: runners, race kit, text runners and combos.

Press Copy under the big character, or tap any tile. Search reads Unicode names and CLDR search words, so marathon finds the six runners and potassium finds Banana. Pick a skin tone once and the nine people, Leg, Foot and seven of the combos follow it.
Which way the runner runs
UTS #51 lets each maker draw a sideways emoji facing either way, and warns that this can change what a message means. Person running facing right is the fix: the runner, a zero width joiner and Right arrow. Version 18.0 counts 108 sequences of this form, skin tones included. A device without the picture shows the runner, then the arrow.
Tips
Dashing away belongs behind the runner. With the facing right runner the puff goes first, as in On my way.
When the direction carries the joke, as in Finish line, use the facing right form. The unmarked runner may head either way.
In a field that refuses emoji, send the epsilon runner. It is plain text: Greek letters for puffs, a box drawing character for one arm.
Questions and answers
Which way does the running emoji face?
Unicode does not say. Section 2.10 of UTS #51 leaves it to vendor practice, so the same runner may head left on one screen and right on another. There is no facing left sequence: a runner without the arrow is simply unmarked.
Why does one runner use up eight characters?
Woman running facing right is a sequence of seven code points: Runner, a zero width joiner, Female sign with a variation selector, another joiner, and Right arrow with its selector. A skin tone adds an eighth, and a field counting code points charges for each.
Is there a jogging, sprint or treadmill emoji?
No. No emoji name or CLDR word says jog, sprint or treadmill. CLDR gives run to the six runners and running to Dashing away, Running shoe and Running shirt. Closest to a jog is the text runner with swinging arms, which Wikipedia records as dancing.
