Kaomoji are faces built from ordinary text characters and read upright, no tilt of the head needed. The style goes back to Japan in the 1980s and an early online service called ASCII NET, and the eyes do more of the work than the mouth.

Each page here is one feeling, animal, gesture or prop, laid out as tiles: tap a face and it is copied. A face lives on one page only: every face holding a heart is on the heart page, and the kissing page has none. This is not a kaomoji generator: nothing here is generated. Each face was put together by hand, and every character in it was looked up in Unicode 18.0. A face that borrows a character from Thai, Georgian or Sinhala says so under its tile, because a device with no font for that script shows an empty box instead.
