How do I get the sun emoji instead of the text sun?

What is the difference between ☀ and ☼?
Unicode names ☀ black sun with rays and ☼ white sun with rays: black means filled and white means outlined. Its names list glosses ☀ as clear weather and gives ☼ a second name, compass. Both arrived in Unicode 1.1.
Is there a sun symbol in Chinese or Japanese?
Yes: 日, which Unihan defines as sun; day; daytime. It is the first character of Nihon, the Japanese name for Japan. ㊐ and ㈰ are the same character in a circle and in brackets, marked for Sunday.
