How it works
B in bubble letters is a post with two bowls stacked on it. Fattening shuts the two holes first, usually the top one before the bottom. What still says B is the flat back and the dent at the waist.

A flat back and a waist
Mochiy Pop One opens the set: both holes stay open as slots. Bubblegum Sans leans, with a slit above and a dark D below. Chango is the wide one, wider than tall, with the shallowest waist. Lilita One has the straightest back and two dots for holes. Chewy is the narrow one with the deepest waist, its holes down to specks. Bagel Fat One dents its back too, so it sits nearest to an 8.
Small b has one bowl
Small b is a tall post with one bowl low on its right. The post stands as tall as the capital, and the bowl fills roughly the lower two thirds. Turn it round and it is a d.
Tips
- Bubble has a capital B and two small b's. Mochiy Pop One keeps all four holes open.
- Make the lower bowl a touch wider than the upper, as five of the six do.

How do you draw the letter B in bubble letters?
Pencil an upright, then two bowls down its right side that meet at the middle. Draw one rounded outline around it all, straight down the back and dented where the bowls meet. Add a small D inside each bowl for the holes.
How do I tell a bubble letter B from an 8?
By the back. B runs straight down its left side between two corners, while 8 is dented on both sides. Width will not do it: in three of the six fonts here the 8 is the wider of the two.
How do you draw a lowercase b in bubble letters?
Pencil a tall upright, then a circle against the lower right of it. Go round both in one outline, with a dent where the top of the bowl meets the post. Leave a small hole in the bowl.
Why have the holes in my printed B closed up?
The Bubble look fattens each bowl inwards as well as outwards, and a small hole shuts. Set Look to Hollow and both holes print as the font drew them. For a thinner Bubble, open More options and slide Strength of the look down.
