How it works
X in bubble letters has no hole to lose. What it can lose is the four notches where its strokes cross: fill them in and the X swells into a clover. These six fonts run from one to the other.

Six ways, cross to clover
Mochiy Pop One opens the set with the cleanest cross: thin arms, square ends, four deep notches. Chango is the wide one, with flat ends. Bubblegum Sans makes one stroke thicker than the other. Chewy is narrow with curved arms. Lilita One stands on flat feet, its top and bottom notches down to nicks. DynaPuff goes all the way: four round lobes.
Small x is the capital, shrunk
Same two strokes, same four notches, roughly three quarters as tall and a little squarer, so one method draws both. English has few words that start with X. Try X-ray, Xylophone or XOXO in Your letters or words, then press Next for the drawing steps.
Tips
- In XOXO, Bubblegum Sans curls each O like a snail shell. Mochiy Pop One gives plain rings.
- The hyphen in X-ray fattens into a pill. By hand, draw it as a short sausage, not a line.

Questions and answers
How do you draw a bubble letter X?
Pencil two thin lines that cross in the middle. Draw one rounded outline around all four arms, dipping into a notch between each pair: top, bottom, left and right. Rub out the pencil cross. Deep notches keep it an X.
How do you draw a lowercase x in bubble letters?
Exactly like the capital, about three quarters of its height, sitting on the same line. There is no stem, dot or tail to add. Shorter arms fill in sooner, so keep the pencil lines thin and the outline close to them.
Why does my bubble letter X look like a flower?
The arms are too fat for their length, so the four notches have filled in. Make the pencil cross bigger or the outline tighter. DynaPuff does it on purpose: its X is four round lobes, a four-leaf clover.
